To CYSA members:

We desperately need adult referees. We have sent out many emails addressing this and the response has been minimal. Locally, our rules require each team provide a certified referee to the referee pool every season. Unfortunately this rule has not been complied with or enforced.

On a State level, we are fielding more and more teams every season. While that is great, we have not been providing additional referees in order to keep pace with these expanded opportunities for our kids. We need to develop more referees so our kids can continue to have these opportunities. We are required to provide three referees to every match we participate in with other leagues. We find it very difficult to conform to this requirement and face possible fines and other consequences if we cannot comply.

We need help to avoid this. Aside from local referee clinics many opportunities are available in Southwest Washington to become a certified referee. The classes now are done primarily online with attendance required at a clinic once the online modules have been completed. You can start today with the online work today,and be certified in time to help and make a little extra money and a big difference to our kids in the fall.

Go on-line at www.wasrc.org On the upper left of screen there is a link to "Register for a new referee clinic." A box listing classes comes up. In the box immediately above the column titled "City" type in Vancouver. To the right of that, there is a box titled "Show" with a drop down menu further to the right. Select 'All". Available clinics change depending on class offerings - the list that appears will change over time.

These are all entry level clinics. Again these clinics allow you to do most of the bookwork online. We need your help. Please sign up today while there are still plenty of openings, so you can attend a clinic that best fits your schedule. Thank you.
